Bath name side for Remembrance fixture

Johann van Graan has named his matchday 23 as Bath Rugby welcome Bristol Bears to The Rec on Saturday (25 October, kick-off 15:05) for Round 5 of the Gallagher PREM.

The match is Bath’s dedicated Remembrance fixture for 2025/26, with a number of activities taking place, including the laying of wreaths, a moment of silence before kick-off, and match shirts worn by Bath’s players featuring the Poppy emblem being auctioned following the game with all proceeds going to charity.

Bath’s front row sees hooker Tom Dunn, fresh from making his 250th appearance for the club last weekend at Leicester Tigers, lining up alongside props Beno Obano and Thomas du Toit.

Quinn Roux and Ross Molony are partnered in the engine room in front of flankers Josh Bayliss and Guy Pepper, at six and seven respectively, and Miles Reid wearing the No.8 shirt.

Captain Ben Spencer and Finn Russell will link up as the half-backs.

Cameron Redpath and Ollie Lawrence are paired at centre whilst Henry Arundell and Joe Cokanasiga will occupy the wing positions.

Santi Carreras completes van Graan’s starting 15 at fullback.

Hooker Kepueli Tuipulotu along with props Francois van Wyk and Will Stuart are the replacement front row. Ewan Richards, Sam Underhill, and Alfie Barbeary are the other impact forwards. Backs Tom Carr-Smith and Max Ojomoh complete a six-two split on the bench.

Bath Rugby Supporters Club

Ah, Bristol… the old enemy. Or are they? As a Bath fan, it is tricky to say who our biggest rivals are. It is something that has changed and shifted over the years. Playing against Leicester stirs the blood. Beating Gloucester – there isn’t much that tops that. But when it comes to our nearest neighbours, their absence from the league for a while meant that in my early years watching Bath, they didn’t feature as much. But now, there have been so many clashes in recent seasons that the sight of dark navy and white is enough to get the pulse beating a little faster.

The most recent memory is the Bears giving us a real fright in the first half of the league semi-final last season. My heart was beginning to sink into my boots that night, until half time arrived to give the boys some breathing room and they turned it around beautifully in the second half and sent us to Twickenham. And we all know what happened there. Bristol may be suffering with injuries to some of their star players, but we’d be foolish to take them lightly after their good start to the season. We’ll have to be sharp today.

In BRSC news, this week marked the signing of our 1,500th member… and we are just a few matches in! We are delighted that so many Bath fans want to be part of our community and encourage anyone who hasn’t yet become a member to do so. We are in the planning stage of our event series for the season – next up is a “Meet the new players” evening. This will be held at the Rec during the festive season, and we’ll be confirming the details soon.

This season, we hope to run coaches to all away PREM games (apart from Newcastle and Friday night matches, which we hope you can forgive us for!), depending on demand. For these matches, it will be a coach only offer. A coach to Saracens on Sunday 30th November is next, and we’ll be sending out details soon.
