EARLY SEASON OPPORTUNITIES

With England flying high at the World Cup in Japan the Premiership Rugby Cup allowed new Academy players such as Tom de Glanville, Gabriel Hamer-Webb, Nahum Merigan and Max Ojomoh to earn their debuts against Exeter Chiefs.

The first game of the season at The Rec also provided new signings Christian Judge, Josh McNally, Lewis Boyce, Will Stuart and Mike Williams the chance to wear the Blue, Black and White for the first time.

Gabriel Hamer-Webb and Lewis Boyce were handed their starting debuts against Leicester at The Rec in Round 3 of the Premiership Rugby Cup.

In the final game of the Premiership Rugby Cup, Bath made a spectacular second-half comeback against local rivals Gloucester.

HARD FOUGHT VICTORIES

The Gallagher Premiership started with disappointment but Bath responded with two dominant displays at The Rec, against Exeter Chiefs and Northampton Saints, and were spurred on by a raucous home crowd.

“When you don't turn those close results into wins you kick yourself on a Monday. It always comes back to moments, all we can do is learn and make sure when we live those moments again next time we win them.”

2019 ended in style with a bonus-point victory over London Irish followed up with a gritty win over Sale Sharks.

The Gallagher Premiership kicked off 2020 with an away loss to Gloucester but then three impressive wins on the bounce to push the Blue, Black and White into the top four.

Bath Rugby ended their run of three consecutive games with two straight defeats at the hands of West Country rivals Bristol Bears and were humbled by Exeter Chiefs at Sandy Park before the Covid-19 Pandemic hit the UK, bringing all sport to a stand still.

“You have to make sure you don’t give them easy opportunities to attack you when you are in your own half. There were a number of areas across the board that we were off. We will ensure we bounce back for London Irish”

A RETURN TO RUGBY

After over four months in lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, close contact training recommenced at Farleigh House. Mid-season signings Ben Spencer and Will Spencer joined the Club along with an influx of Academy recruits in preparation for the 2019/20 season restarting on 15 August against London Irish.
