Ben Spencer twice crossed the try-line in a tight contest at AJ Bell Stadium, with Stuart Hooper's men ending the weekend in 3rd place in Gallagher Premiership. A try from Jonathan Joseph in the final minutes secured the vital bonus-point for the lads, lifting Bath above their opponents in the Gallagher Premiership table.
Both sides approached this contest with a huge amount of confidence, which was evident during the first-half. Sale got off to a quick start with a try from Rohan Janse van Rensburg, after a burst of pace from the centre. Their lead was short lived, with Ruaridh McConnochie crossing the try line to continue his unbelievable form since the restart.
Rhys Priestland ensured the score was ticking along nicely, before Ben Spencer scored a scrappy try in the corner just before half-time. This extended Bath's lead to 10 points at the whistle, providing a little bit of breathing space between the two sides.
After a delightful chip from Ben Spencer, Jonathan Joseph was the man to score the all important bonus-point try late in the day. After a third straight win, it's Gloucester at the Rec next up for Bath. Top four is now in the lads' hands and a win in each of their final two matches would secure the play-off spot.
