Bath Rugby finish the 2019-20 regular season with a draw at Allianz Park against Saracens, with Stuart Hooper's men needing a win to guarantee the top 4 position. Saracens fought their way back into the match after the Blue, Black and White made an unbelievable start!
Everybody associated with Bath Rugby will now turn their attention to the Sale Sharks v Worcester Warriors fixture scheduled for Wednesday 7 October.
It was the start the lads would have dreaming of last night, with the Bath Rugby and England Prop Beno Obano crossing the try line in only the 3rd minute of the match. Ben Spencer then continued his superb form with another Blue, Black and White try to put Bath up 14-0 inside the 1st quarter of this crucial contest.
A penalty try (63') started the comeback in the second-half, with Manu Vunipola (73') crossing the try line 10-minutes later to level the scores. It was a nail biting finish with Bath's defensive efforts preventing Saracens adding any more points before the final whistle.
With a win against Worcester Warriors, Sale Sharks would overtake Bath Rugby to confirm the last play-off spot. The match has been postponed from today due to a Covid-19 outbreak in the Sale Sharks camp, so Exeter Chiefs and Wasps must now wait until full time Wednesday night to see which side they will face in the semi-finals of the Gallagher Premiership.
