It's the moment you have all been waiting for, Premiership Rugby returned to the Rec this afternoon and the performance from Bath Rugby did not disappoint. After months of hard work and intense training, the lads dominated London Irish from the very start of the match ending up with a vital bonus-point win!
The stage was set for a memorable performance, with Captain Charlie Ewels making his 100th appearance for the Club along with a full debut for new signing and England International Ben Spencer.
The former Saracens number 9 started his Bath career with a man of the match display, crossing the try line after a breakaway try in only the fourth minute - that would have certainly settled the nerves! The Blue, Black and White XV never looked back from that point, with Tom Dunn scoring a two further tries - both from mauls inside 22 minutes! Keep an eye on Bath's maul for the rest of the season, it was a lethal weapon for the lads today!
Ben Spencer and Tom Dunn got Bath Rugby off to a quick start with three tries inside 22 minutes!
After a period of pressure from London Irish either side of half-time, Jonathon Joseph and Jack Walker capped off a dominant display with a bonus point win. The 5 points gained from today's victory has moved Bath Rugby up to fourth place on 35 points, topping off a perfect Saturday for the Blue, Black and White!
It's Leicester Tigers up next and the team will aim for another 5 points... enjoy your weekend after that and see you next Saturday for another huge match!
